Reviews Overview

Most Liked

Patrons rave about the exceptional freshness of the seafood offered here. The highlight is often the crayfish special, praised for its flavor and quality. Many guests also comment on the warm, welcoming service provided by the staff, who create an inviting atmosphere.

The affordability of the meals, combined with generous portion sizes, is also a major selling point. The crab rolls and sub rolls rank high on the list of favorites, while those looking for a quick snack love the small plates and snacks available. Overall, the vibe perfectly complements the cuisine, making it a must-visit for seafood lovers.

Most Disliked

The simplicity of the decor and seating at The Crab Hut might not appeal to diners looking for a more upscale experience. Some reviews mention that the dining area can feel a bit basic. However, this does not detract from the exceptional quality of the food. Furthermore, during peak hours, the lunch rush can lead to longer wait times, especially on Thursdays around noon when the restaurant reaches full capacity. While the food remains high-quality, the busyness might diminish relaxation during meals. Knowing the best times to visit can help avoid these rushes.

I would rate higher than 5 stars if I could. The food here is absolutely amazing- fresh and good value. I absolutely loved the crayfish special! Great selection of teas and coffees too. The ladies running the hut are great very welcoming and friendly. Cash and card payments are both accepted. Would definitely eat here again.

Some of the best and freshest seafood we have had in a long time! The store is a little basic but 100% worth the visit. The cockles were probably the best we have had.

An absolute experience! Affordable, quality food in a sublime environment. I tried the Crabhut Special - a mix of prawn, crab and crayfish at £6.50. They recommended their sauce and brown bread to go with it. The prawns may look bleached like Chinese crystal prawns, but they are fresh, sweet and briny. All three ingredients were fresh and sweet - tasted of the sea! Coupled with the gentle spring breeze and trill of the birds, this is an experience that surpasses many fancy restaurants that try so hard to manufacture.

A fantastic little takeaway hut selling super fresh crab, crayfish and seafood rolls and pots, plus drinks and snacks in a lovely harbourside spot. Incredible quality fresh local food for very reasonable prices, and lovely, friendly and kind service, even when there is a long queue! Highly recommended for a tasty fresh lunch.

A place like this is as rare as hens teeth in our current corporate domination of our eating establishments. It is genuine and honest, and provides real local food with a “hello love” welcome, and Not a “ have a nice day “ in sight. Please go there before it disappears. quality food, Quality people and a national treasure
